Chelsea forward Aimee Claypole has today completed a loan move to Championship side Durham for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
The 19-year-old, who has made three appearances for the Blues since making her debut during the 2022/23 campaign, spent the first half of this season in Sweden on loan at Linkoping.
She made 12 appearances and scored three times across all competitions, including on her league debut, as her loan club finished ninth in the Damallsvenskan.
The forward now joins Durham on loan for her second stint in the Championship. Claypole spent the second half of last season in the division with Lewes, where she made 11 appearances, scoring twice and providing three assists.
Before her loan spells the Academy graduate, who joined the club aged nine, made her debut for the Blues in January of the 2021/2022 season as a second-half substitute in an FA Cup tie against Aston Villa.
A maiden outing in the Women’s Super League then arrived in March 2023 when Claypole came off the bench in a win over Brighton & Hove Albion, before a third senior substitute appearance followed against Reading in the FA Cup later that same month.
On the international stage, the teenage forward has represented Finland at U-15s level and England’s U-17s, U-18s and U-19s.
Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Aimee every success at Durham, and we look forward to watching her progress during the rest of the season.
