Roberto Di Matteo’s squad has doubled in size for when Chelsea Legends take on Liverpool Legends on Saturday 22 March at Anfield.

Four more famous names have been added with the news today that Ryan Bertrand, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Jody Morris and Frank Sinclair will turn back the years and reignite old rivalries in a match that will raise money for the Chelsea Foundation and the Chelsea Players' Trust, which supports the welfare of those who made the club what it is today.

Ryan Bertrand famously made his Champions League debut when he started one of our most glorious games of all on the left-hand side of the team – the Munich triumph that made us London’s first European champions.

Among the 87 often blockbuster goals striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scored for the Blues were five against Liverpool, including a 2003 winner at Anfield that set a new era going in style. Can he repeat the feat next month?

Jody Morris is the local lad to Stamford Bridge who went on to play for and coach the team – and was a trophy-winner in a popular side as the 1990s became the 2000s. He brought his midfield skills to our first-ever Champions League campaign.

Another homegrown, Frank Sinclair, was voted Chelsea Player of Year at the end of his first full season. He followed that remarkable feat with many more years of fully committed action in our defence as the Blues steadily developed into a silverware-securing side. He even scored in a Wembley cup final win in his final game for the club.

Tickets for Chelsea Legends visit to Liverpool are on sale now, with more players to be announced in the coming weeks.

Today’s boost to the squad follows on from last week’s confirmation that Carlo Cudicini, Gary Cahill, Ramires and Florent Malouda are all to play – all under the guidance of Champions League-winning Di Matteo.
