A trip to north London to face Arsenal awaits Sonia Bompastor and her Chelsea side, and here is all the information you need to know ahead of the derby clash…

We return to Women’s Super League duty this weekend after a fortnight to face our rivals at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

And while Bompastor already boasts a pre-season win over the Gunners during her short tenure thus far, this will be the first competitive encounter between the London clubs this campaign.

When and where

We travel to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 12 October with kick-off scheduled for 1.45pm.

How to follow

You can follow via the match centre on the official Chelsea website and official app, and through Chelsea Women’s social media channels with match commentary posted on X and regular updates available on Facebook and Instagram.

The match will be broadcast on BBC One for those watching in the UK.

The form

A win against Arsenal would give Blues head coach Bompastor a third win from three in the WSL, having beaten Aston Villa 1-0 and Crystal Palace 7-0 in our opening two league games.

In those back-to-back wins, eight goals have been scored - with seven different goal scorers - and none conceded.

If our 100 per cent record so far this season is maintained in north London, Bompastor will become only the fourth manager to win each of their first three WSL matches.

The Blues are unbeaten across all competitions this season after getting her UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign off to a winning start on Tuesday night, beating Real Madrid 3-2 in the Group B fixture.

Arsenal have also made an unbeaten start to the WSL this term, winning once and drawing on two occasions. Both stalemates, against Manchester City and Everton, have come at the Emirates.

Jonas Eidevall's side also got their European campaign underway this week, suffering a 5-2 defeat to reigning German champions Bayern Munich.

Recent head-to-head

The Blues faced Arsenal three times last term, twice in the league and in the final of the League Cup.

In December last year, the Gunners prevailed 4-1 winners at the Emirates, while the Blues put things right at Stamford Bridge in March with a 3-1 victory courtesy of a Lauren James goal and Sjoeke Nusken brace.

A 1-0 win at Molineux Stadium saw Arsenal pip Chelsea to the League Cup trophy in late April of this year.

The London rivals met as recently as August in pre-season, taking our derby Stateside where Bompastor’s side recorded a 1-0 win in what was our head coach’s second match in charge after joining the club.
