Chelsea Under-21s forwards Donnell McNeilly and Jimmy-Jay Morgan have both been named on the shortlist for January's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
The 2024/25 season has already proved to be an impressive one for Blues striker McNeilly. Since the start of the campaign, he has made 22 appearances and scored 10 goals across all competitions for our Under-21s, including four in January - three of which came in league action.
In the Premier League 2, McNeilly found the back of the net against Reading and netted a well-executed brace against Nottingham Forest, helping the Blues come from 2-0 down to secure a 4-2 victory.
Additionally, Chelsea have another Under-21s nominee for the Premier League 2 award, in fellow forward Morgan. The 19-year-old, who recently joined League Two side Gillingham on loan, has also made 22 appearances across Under-21 competitions, scoring nine goals, with eight of those coming in league play.
Last month, Morgan scored three Premier League 2 goals, two against Nottingham Forest and one in the 3-0 win over Reading, before leaving to continue his development elsewhere during the January transfer window.
McNeilly and Morgan's performances for the Blues earned them nominations for January's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, alongside: Dom Ballard, Cameron Bragg, Lewis Payne (all Southampton), Harry Evans (Derby County), Aaron Loupalo-Bi (Fulham) and Sam Mather (Manchester United).
