After notching a goal in back-to-back games for the first time in Chelsea colours, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says he is feeling good, especially considering the mood in the Blues dressing room is a buoyant one.

Graham Potter has won two and drawn one of his opening three matches as Chelsea head coach, the latest of which a thumping 3-0 victory in the Champions League over Italian giants AC Milan.

Aubameyang has started all three of those matches, and he added to his maiden Chelsea goal on Saturday with another clinical striker’s finish last night in the victory over the Serie A champions.

The Gabonese international says it was the complete performance from Potter's side.

‘It was not an easy game. They played well in the first half but then we kept the intensity really high. We were dominant and confident,’ Auba said.

'We needed a reaction and we did it. With our fans, we did amazing and we are happy to get the three points.

‘The first goal was really important as it gave us strength and confidence to play the game. We knew what we had to do against Milan because they have great strikers as well and the defenders did an incredible job.’

It has been a tricky period for the Blues players and staff, not only due to the change in manager but also the international break which perhaps came at an unusual time, not giving the players the best of chances of understanding the new coach’s philosophies.

Despite that, the striker says the mood in the camp is good, and on a personal level, he is feeling confident heading into our next set of fixtures.

‘When you win games it is easier and the mood is very good at the moment. We’ll try to keep it up!

‘I am feeling good. I was very welcomed by all the team-mates and staff. It was a bit strange to play against them [AC Milan] after a lot of years but that’s football.

‘My goal was really special to tell the truth, it was my ex-team and we had a great night, we played very well so we are happy,' he said, with a smile.

On Reece James, who produced another stellar performance at right wing-back, the striker was full of praise.

‘For me, he’s the best in the world at the moment. He’s doing an amazing job. You could see in this game, a goal and assist, he’s on top form.’
