Chelsea is pleased to announce goalkeeper Becky Spencer has joined the club on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.
Following Femke Liefting’s long-term injury and in light of Zecira Musovic’s pregnancy news, in accordance with the league rules we have recruited and registered a replacement player outside of the transfer window.
The Jamaican international, who previously played for the Blues between 2016 and 2018, arrives with a vast amount of experience.
She has enjoyed a trophy-laden career having won a Women’s Super League title and a FA Cup during her previous spell with Chelsea. The 34-year-old also won a number of domestic trophies throughout her time with Arsenal and was part of the squad who won the UEFA Champions League in 2006/07.
Our new No.38 has also played for Nottingham Forest, Gillingham, Soyaux, Birmingham City and Spurs - where she has featured since 2019.
Spencer made her debut for the Reggae Girlz in 2021 and represented her country at the 2023 World Cup.
Everyone at Chelsea is delighted to welcome Becky back to the club and we look forward to having her as part of the team for the rest of the season.
