Aggie Beever-Jones's strike in our league win over Aston Villa has been shortlisted for the Barclays Women's Super League Goal of the Month award for April.
In Emma Hayes's 200th WSL game as manager, Beever-Jones's superb volley opened the scoring in what proved to be a 3-0 win for the Blues.
Villa had already been reduced to ten players by the time Beever-Jones struck, with Anna Laet sent off early after saving Sjoeke Nusken's effort outside of her penalty area.
That forced the visitors to defend deep and although the Blues immediately dominated possession, an early goal was proving elusive.
That was until Beever-Jones curled home a wonderful effort from a Niamh Charles cross for her seventh WSL goal of the season.
Charles drove to the byline, lofted the ball to the back post and Beever-Jones connected perfectly with her left foot to break Villa's early resistance.
Aggie's strike will go up against seven others who have also made the shortlist for April.
They include goals from Manchester City trio Jess Park, Khadija Shaw and two from Mary Fowler, as well as Arsenal's Alessia Russo, Everton's Issy Hobson and Manchester United's Ella Toone.
If successful, our young English forward will be the first Chelsea player to claim the award since forward Sam Kerr won last season's March Goal of the Month for her match-winning strike against Manchester United at Kingsmeadow.
