The next Chelsea player to tell us about their first visit to America ahead of our pre-season tour this summer is Wes Fofana, who shares his experiences of Washington DC where the Blues will be based ahead of our match in Landover, against Fulham.

‘I went to America with my club back in France, Saint-Etienne. I went to Washington DC and I played against DC United. It was very good and the fans were crazy, but you know this little club in France is different to Chelsea.

'I’m very excited to go back to see the atmosphere, to see the fans because, for sure, when Chelsea go to America the atmosphere is crazy and it is different.

‘I saw a little bit of the city. We had one afternoon in Washington, I went to the White House and it’s crazy. It’s very big and you see the White House in movies or in TV series and then you see it for real, it’s a little crazy.

‘I like America, I like the people in America. It’s good, the people in America are crazy, I like that, it’s good.’
