Sonia Bompastor says Naomi Girma could be named in the Chelsea squad for the first time this weekend as the Blues travel to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
Following the international break, the Blues return to Women's Super League action at Broadfield Stadium against the Seagulls.
The players who didn't join their national teams have remained hard at work at Cobham over the past fortnight, and our head coach has confirmed Girma is set to feature in her first match-day squad since signing for Chelsea for a world-record fee in January.
Bompastor said: 'Naomi has practiced really well during the two weeks. We brought some boys into training and we had the best girls from the Academy, so we had a nice environment for them to practice in.
'Naomi should be in the squad for the game on Sunday.'
Bompastor also provided an update on Erin Cuthbert, who missed our last league match with a rib injury and did not link up with Scotland during the international break.
Our head coach added: 'Erin is still recovering. I will have a clear idea tonight about whether she is able to be in the squad or not.'
There was no other fresh team news in Friday's pre-match press conference with Bompastor informing the media that those who have been away with their national teams will be assessed today ahead of the trip to Brighton.
Bompastor said: 'We still have three players (Catarina Macario, Mayra Ramirez and Maika Hamano) who are landing today from San Diego.
'The big day for assessment is today for us. I will have a clear idea of my squad for the game on Sunday maybe later today. It's a quick turnaround with only one day to prepare for the game, but we have the experience.'
