Chelsea travel to newly-promoted Bristol City on Sunday afternoon for what is our final Women's Super League fixture of 2023.
A disappointing defeat to Arsenal in our previous league outing was followed by a frustrating goalless draw at home to BK Hacken in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday.
We travel to Bristol and a response will be expected from manager Emma Hayes ahead of the WSL winter break.
Lauren Smith’s side have been finding their feet in the division after earning promotion last season. They will provide a stern test for the Blues in what is the first competitive meeting between the two clubs in almost three years.
When and where?
The Blues travel to Ashton Gate on Sunday 17 December for our final Barclays Women’s Super League fixture of the year. Kick-off against Bristol City is scheduled for 2.00pm (UK time).

The form
Ahead of this weekend's fixtures, we sat atop the WSL on goal difference. Arsenal can, at least temporarily, move ahead of us if they overcome Tottenham in this afternoon's North London derby.
Chelsea have taken 22 points from 27 available this term, with seven wins, one draw, and one defeat. We have struck 29 goals and conceded eleven. Bristol City, meanwhile, sit 11th with five points after one win, two draws, and six defeats.
Aggie Beever-Jones, who spent a season on loan with Bristol City, has scored in each of her last five WSL outings for the Blues. She is averaging a goal every 28 minutes in the competition this season.
Bristol City vs Chelsea recent head-to-head record
Our last meeting with Bristol City saw us go head-to-head in the 2021 Continental League Cup final at Vicarage Road. We recorded a resounding 6-0 victory to lift back-to-back Continental League Cup titles.
A hat-trick from Sam Kerr, a brace from Fran Kirby, and a goal from Guro Reiten helped to secure our first piece of silverware that season.
What comes next
We round off the year with a return to UEFA Women’s Champions League action and a trip to Sweden on matchday four, where we will face BK Hacken for the second time in a week.
Kick-off for this one is scheduled for 8.00pm (UK time) on Wednesday.
