Academy striker Mason Burstow saw off fierce competition to be named PL2 Player of the Month for March, recognising his fine performances for Chelsea's development squad last month.
The 19-year-old has featured in all but one of our PL2 games this season, contributing an impressive tally of nine goals and four assists in the Premier League 2 competition this season.
The month of March saw him score three of his nine goals as our young Blues were unbeaten in four matches.
A regular for our development squad, the former Charlton Athletic forward has been a key part of our push for the PL2 title this season.
Burstow said on receiving this accolade, 'To win this award is a huge honour and means a lot to me. I want to thank my team-mates and coaches for the amazing work, day to day, that has helped me to have these performances.
'It is a personal win for me but a win for the team as well and that it reflects our season as a group and the work we have been doing as a team. Thank you to all that voted for me, I really appreciate the recognition.'
Our development squad are in a close title race with current leaders Manchester City in the PL2 and it is the Manchester-based side whom we travel to this Sunday. Burstow will be looking to add to his tally in what could prove to be a huge game in deciding the winners of this year's PL2.
