Midfielder Cesare Casadei has completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Leicester City.
Casadei was part of the Chelsea squad that travelled out to America this summer and featured in four of our friendly matches during our tour.
His inclusion came after an impressive performance in the Under-20 World Cup for Italy. Casadei helped his country finish as runners-up and ended with the Golden Ball and Golden Boot after scoring seven goals in seven matches.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: ‘This loan move is the perfect opportunity for Cesare to continue his progression as an exciting, young footballer.
‘We’re excited to see how he performs under Enzo Maresca at Leicester and look forward to watching him continue on this journey.’
The 20-year-old arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan. He was a regular for our Under-21 side before leaving on loan in January for Reading.
Casadei made 15 appearances for the Royals and that experience will undoubtedly serve him well as he returns to the second tier with Leicester.
Good luck, Cesare!
