Cerys Brown has departed Chelsea after completing a permanent move to London City Lionesses.
The 19-year-old defender leaves the Blues nearly four years after joining as part of our Academy programme.
During 2022/23, she made her first team debut against Reading in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. In the same campaign, Brown was part of the Blues side that won the FA Women’s Academy Cup with a victory against Manchester United in the final.
Brown signed a first professional contract in the summer of 2023 and would go on to spend the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Watford in the Championship.
The defender spent the first half of the current season on loan in the second tier with London City Lionesses, who she now joins permanently.
On the international stage, Brown represented England at Under-19s level and was named in the Team of the Tournament at last summer’s European Championships.
Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Cerys for her contributions during her time at the club and we wish her every success for the future.
