After our triumph in the League Cup final, round two against Manchester City takes us north in the UEFA Women's Champions League. Here is everything you need to know...

Chelsea claimed the first silverware of the season in Saturday's Women's League Cup final, following the first of four consecutive games against Manchester City.

Now we take on the same opponents in the Women's Champions League quarter-finals, beginning our knockout campaign with an away trip to Manchester for the first leg.

Where and when

Our first Champions League knockout match of the season sees us take on Manchester City at the Joie Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm UK time on Wednesday 19 March.

How to follow

As always, you can follow along in the Manchester City vs Chelsea Women Match Centre on the official Chelsea website and app, with minute-by-minute match commentary provided throughout. You can also follow events on Chelsea Women’s social media channels on X, Facebook and Instagram.

The match will be broadcast live on DAZN.

The form

The Blues breezed through the group stage to reach the Champions League quarter-finals on maximum points with six wins from as many games, scoring 19 goals and conceding just six in reply in the process.

That is part of an undefeated campaign so far in all competitions, having also booked our place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, triumphed in the League Cup and opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the Women's Super League table by dropping just four points from 16 games.

Man City sit just outside the European qualification places in fourth spot in the WSL table, with 10 wins from 16 games, but are also in the FA Cup semis, where they will face local rivals Manchester United.

The Cityzens also progressed comfortably to this stage of the Champions League, winning five of their six matches in Group D. Having maintained a 100 per cent record through the first five games, including a memorable 2-0 win over Barcelona, they concluded with defeat to the Catalans, knocking City down to second in the table on goal difference, although their qualification had already been assured going into that game.

Recent head-to-head

Chelsea beat Manchester City to get our hands on the first silverware of the season and lift our first trophy under head coach Sonia Bompastor in Saturday's League Cup final in Derby.

Mayra Ramirez's close-range finish gave us the lead but City equalised through Aoba Fujino in the second half, before the game was decided with 13 minutes remaining when Ramirez's cross was diverted into the net off Yui Hasegawa.

That was the second meeting between these two teams this season, the first coming in the Women's Super League at Stamford Bridge back in November.

Two goals in four second-half minutes sealed victory for Chelsea and sent us top of the table, as Ramirez finished a quick counter by converting Maika Hamano's brilliant pass and then Guro Reiten made the points safe from a corner.

However, City are now back under the guidance of interim head coach Nick Cushing, who took charge of his first game since his return to the Joie Stadium in Saturday's League Cup final.

Tickets are still available for our Champions League quarter final second leg tie with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. You can book your tickets for this must-see game on Thursday 27 March here.
