Emma Hayes’s side will begin the defence of our Adobe Women’s FA Cup crown at home to fellow WSL opponents West Ham United after the draw for the fourth round proper was conducted on Tuesday morning.
The Blues are the current holders of the competition having overcome Manchester United in last season’s final at Wembley.
Sam Kerr’s second-half strike was the difference that day, as Chelsea celebrated a third successive FA Cup triumph and the fifth of Emma Hayes’s trophy-laden tenure.
We enter this year's competition at the fourth round stage – and the Blues have been handed a home tie against West Ham. We have faced the Hammers once already in the WSL this season, claiming a 2-0 victory at Kingsmeadow in October
As ball number five, we were pulled out of the hat midway through the draw with 32 teams dreaming of playing under the Wembley arch, with our encounter against West Ham one of 16 ties to be contested in the New Year.
Domestic football takes a break during the festive period and the fourth-round ties will mark its return in the New Year, with these matches set to be played on Sunday 14 January.
An exact date, kick-off time, and ticket information for our meeting with the Hammers will be announced in due course.
