Aggie Beever-Jones and Lauren James have been nominated for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for November.
A busy fixture schedule saw us navigate six matches across domestic and European fronts last month – and it ended with Chelsea positioned at the top of the WSL tree with a three-point advantage over Arsenal heading into the international break.
Emma Hayes's side began November with a ruthless 6-0 victory at Aston Villa, and followed it up with a 3-0 win away against Everton. The goals continued to flow as we overcame Liverpool 5-1 at Stamford Bridge before ending the month by beating Leicester City 5-2 at Kingsmeadow.
Beever-Jones's nomination is thoroughly deserved as she scored in each of our four WSL matches in November. The 20-year-old came off the bench to score against Aston Villa, Everton and Leicester, while the highlight of her start against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge was a clinical header in front of the Shed End.
James, meanwhile, lit up the Bridge with her first WSL hat-trick against Liverpool and the assist for Beever-Jones’ header.
The England international also scored twice in our victory over Leicester at the end of the month, taking her November tally to five goals.
Our Blues will go up against Sophie Roman Haug of Liverpool, Khadija Shaw of Manchester City, Lotte Wubben-Moy of Arsenal, and Amalie Thestrup of Bristol City. The winner of the award to be announced in due course.
Voting for Player of the Month is now open; it will close at 10am on Monday 4 December.
