Last Thursday 27 January, Chelsea Football Club paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust to ensure their legacy is never forgotten.

Chelsea Foundation continued our journey to inspire, educate and to tackle inequality through the female-targeted programme GoalGetters, delivering a 30-minute workshop to female pupils at Roehampton Church School.

During the workshop, students discussed raising awareness around the Holocaust, education on genocide, exploring case studies and promoting equality.

The students taking part in the workshop also received video messages from Chelsea stars Callum Hudson-Odoi and Maren Mjelde who recently collaborated with the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance on their #WhyWeRemember campaign, which aims to show the importance of Holocaust remembrance, empowering individuals to speak out against injustice and not forget those who have been mistreated throughout history.

The programme ran by the Foundation is part of Chelsea FC’s Say No to Antisemitism campaign and funded by club owner Roman Abramovich.

Joanne Rochester, staff member at Roehampton Church School, said: ‘Providing education on these important topics is key for our pupils to ensure that we understand the history that has taken place across different communities so we can continue to embed positive values into our young people, where we celebrate differences and support those who may need it.’
