Chelsea Foundation and trivago have launched a programme aimed at empowering young females.
The Empower Female Mentoring Programme will help inspire and educate young females through weekly workshops and experience sharing.
Spread across 10 sessions, 22 young girls (aged between 16-18) from Fulham Cross Academy will be paired with trivago F.A.M.E mentors who will provide insights into their career journeys and real life experiences.
F.A.M.E (Female Ambassadors and Mentors in Engineering) aims to establish female role models in engineering by sharing their experiences to inspire, empower and attract female talents to TECH careers. Their mission also contributes to trivago’s diversity and inclusion goals and commitment to continuous learning and exchange.
The sessions will be delivered on a weekly basis and themed around skills such as empowerment, aspirations and resilience.
Sam Gaskin-Kemp, head of education and innovation at Chelsea Foundation, said: ‘At Chelsea Foundation we strive to help shape aspirations of girls and young women and are therefore delighted to be working alongside trivago to deliver this unique experience.’
Aida Orujova, a trivago F.A.M.E mentor, said: ‘My involvement in the mentorship programme is a rewarding experience for me as a mentor. I think of it as a means of working together with my mentees towards a common goal while sharing new perspectives and experiences, as well as providing guidance to those who may greatly benefit from support in early stages of their professional career.
‘As a mentor, I gain fulfilment from watching my mentees grow and succeed, while also developing my own skills and knowledge as I guide and support them along the way.’
The 22 young girls will also be taken to watch a live Chelsea FC Women’s fixture as part of the programme, and the experience will culminate in a graduation event hosted at Stamford Bridge.
