Gareth Southgate has named 33 players for the double-header, which will be the Three Lions’ final games before UEFA’s mandatory deadline for naming the 26-man EURO 2024 squads on June 8.

England will face Bosnia & Herzegovina on Monday 3 June at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park before taking on Iceland at Wembley Stadium on Friday 7 June, with both fixtures kicking off at 7.45pm.

The Three Lions will then travel to Germany for EURO 2024, with their campaign getting underway on Sunday 16 June.

Group games against Denmark on Thursday 20 June and Slovenia on Tuesday 25 June will follow, with the ultimate aim of lifting a first senior men’s European Championship on Sunday 14 July.

Gallagher has 12 senior caps to his name and has been in every England squad bar one since making his debut in November 2021, including travelling to Qatar for World Cup in 2022.

The Chelsea Academy graduate represented England at every age group since under-17 level and was part of the squad which won the U17 World Cup in 2017.

Palmer has also won major honours at youth level, helping the Young Lions claim the Under-21 European Championship last summer.

But his move to Chelsea from Manchester City last summer saw the 22-year-old reach new levels for club and country.

Palmer’s fast start to life at the Bridge resulted in a deserved maiden senior England call-up in November 2023, with his two caps coming later that month against Malta and North Macedonia.

The midfielder’s exceptional season continued and his 25 goals and 15 assists in 45 games in all competitions saw him rewarded with the Premier League’s Young Player of the Year award – to go with the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year trophies he received at club level.
