Noni Madueke has received his first senior England call-up and will join Chelsea team-mates Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer in the squad for the forthcoming Nations League fixtures against Ireland and Finland.

Madueke has enjoyed a fine start to the 2024/25 campaign, with a goal struck in our UEFA Conference League play-off first leg against Servette and a 14-minute hat-trick netted in our 6-2 away victory at Wolves.

That form has been recognised by interim England head coach Lee Carsley, who included Madueke in his Under-21s squad that triumphed at last summer's 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Colwill returns to the England senior squad after starting our opening two Premier League fixtures of the campaign. The Academy graduate earned his first cap against Australia last October.

And fresh off a goal and three assists at Wolves, Palmer keeps his spot in the England set-up. The 22-year-old made his Three Lions debut in November and was part of the squad for this summer's European Championship.

Palmer made five appearances at the tournament in Germany and assisted England's winning goal in a semi-final victory over the Netherlands and scored in the final against Spain in what proved an agonising 2-1 defeat.

England's first fixture since that heartbreak in Berlin comes in the Nations League against Ireland. The fixture will be played at the Aviva Stadium and will take place on Saturday, 7 September.

That is followed by a return to Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, 10 September as England face Finland.
