The Blues begin their Women's FA Cup campaign this weekend when they host Charlton Athletic in the fourth round. Here is all you need to know...

Following a productive winter training camp in Portugal, Sonia Bompastor and her side will return to action for the first time in 2025 when our cup campaign gets underway on Sunday against the Championship side.

The Blues come into the match with a 16-game unbeaten run behind them, with all but one of those matches ending in victories, and will be looking to extend that impressive run of form in the FA Cup.

Where and when

We host the Addicks on Sunday 12 January at Kingsmeadow, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

How to follow

As always, you can follow along on the Chelsea v Charlton Athletic Match Centre on the official Chelsea website and app, with minute-by-minute match commentary provided throughout. You can also follow events on Chelsea Women’s social media channels on X, Facebook and Instagram.

The match will be streamed live on the Women's FA Cup YouTube channel and the FA Player.

The form

Head coach Bompastor led her side to 16 games unbeaten before the winter break commenced in late December, with 15 of those matches resulting in a win.

In the Women's Super League, the Blues sit six points clear at the top of the table with 28 points gained thanks to nine wins and one draw. A perfect winning start to our UEFA Champions League campaign saw us claim six victories and a place in the quarter-finals.

Sunday's visitors reached the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating their fellow Championship side Lewes 4-0 at home in the previous round.

Charlton currently sit eighth in the Championship after 10 games played. They have collected 15 points having won four matches, drawn three and lost three. Their League Cup campaign ended in the group stages, where the Addicks were beaten in each of their matches against WSL opposition: Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Recent head-to-head record

The two sides last met also in the fourth round of the FA Cup back in 2020. The Blues prevailed with a 4-0 win on that occasion with former players Drew Spence and Emily Murphy both bagging two goals each.
