The Blues host the Spanish club in our first match of Group B in which we will also go on to face FC Twente (Netherlands) and Celtic (Scotland).

This will be the third consecutive season we have faced Madrid in the European group stages and ahead of the clash against a familiar rival, we’ve put together all the information you need to know…

When and where

We host Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday 8 October, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

How to follow

You can follow via the match centre on the official Chelsea website and official app, and through Chelsea Women’s social media channels with match commentary posted on X and regular updates available on Facebook and Instagram.

The match will be broadcast on DAZN for those in the UK.

The form

Sonia Bompastor and her Chelsea side have started the Women’s Super League season in impressive form with two wins from two, with eight goals scored and none conceded.

Our most recent victory in the league came against Crystal Palace, who we defeated 7-0 at Selhurst Park. Six different players were on the score sheet in our emphatic win in south London.

The Blues’ winning run in the WSL now stands at five games which extends back to last season’s victories against Bristol City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

Real Madrid have also started their league campaign well and have won each of their five games thus far.

Recent head-to-head

We have played Real Madrid in the group stages in the last two seasons of the Champions League, with the results being two draws and two wins in Chelsea’s favour.

In 2022/23, we beat Las Blancas 2-0 at Kingsmeadow with Sophie Ingle and Erin Cuthbert on the score sheet, before the reverse fixture in Spain ended in a 1-1 draw.

Last season, we kicked off our campaign away to Madrid which was a 2-2 draw. Niamh Charles and Sam Kerr netted for the Blues.

The reverse fixture at the Bridge saw us claim a 2-1 victory, with our goals coming from Guro Reiten and an own goal. The win secured our place as group winners and with it a place in the quarter-finals.
