Chelsea will be competing for the season's first silverware when we take on Manchester City in Derby. Here is all you need to know ahead of the Women's League Cup final...

The Blues are back in cup action on Saturday and this time there is a trophy up for grabs, as we switch attention to the League Cup after defeating Crystal Palace 1-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

With this being the first of four consecutive meetings between Chelsea and Manchester City, across the League Cup, Champions League and Women's Super League, both teams will be eager to set the tone early with victory and silverware to boot.

Where and when

We will face Manchester City at Derby County's Pride Park on Saturday 15 March, with kick-off scheduled for 12.15pm.

How to follow

As always, you can follow minute-by-minute updates in our Chelsea Women vs Manchester City Match Centre on the official Chelsea website and app. You can also follow through Chelsea Women’s social media channels on X, Facebook and Instagram.

The match will be shown live on BBC One for those watching in the UK, with coverage starting at 11.45am, as well as online on BBC iPlayer.

The form

The Blues reached this record-breaking sixth consecutive Women's League Cup final by beating West Ham United 2-0 in the semis on home soil at Kingsmeadow. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd opened the scoring with a stunning strike after 20 minutes, before Sjoeke Nusken doubled our lead nine minutes later.

Earlier in the competition we dismissed Durham 5-0 - our second consecutive victory by that scoreline. Aggie Beever-Jones, Oriane Jean-Francois, Erin Cuthbert, Guro Reiten and Maika Hamano all found the net as we brushed our second-tier opposition aside in the quarter-finals.

Goals from Laura Coombs and Lily Murphy gave Man City a 2-1 derby win over Manchester United in their own quarter-final, before Mary Fowler scored the second of her two goals in the fifth added minute to seal a last gasp semi-final victory against Arsenal in the last round.

Recent head-to-head

These two teams have already met once this season, in the Women's Super League at Stamford Bridge back in November. Two goals in four second-half minutes sealed victory for Chelsea and sent us top of the table, as Mayra Ramirez finished a quick counter by converting Hamano's brilliant pass and then Reiten made the points safe from a corner.

We also defeated Man City in last season's League Cup, booking our place in the previous final with a 1-0 away win in the semis. On that occasion, Lauren James' early deflected strike proved to be the only goal of the game.

We will also face Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in the second leg of our UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final on Thursday 27 March and you secure your seat for that match here.
