Chelsea Women will travel to West Ham United in the semi-finals of the FA Continental Tyres League Cup after the draw was conducted on Thursday afternoon.
The Blues secured their place in the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road on Wednesday night. Goals from Erin Cuthbert, Fran Kirby and Sam Kerr preceded an excellent stoppage-time consolation from Chelsea legend, Drew Spence.
We were the second ball to pulled out of the hat as the semi-finals took shape with our encounter against West Ham promising to be an entertaining London derby, as we look to book our place at the showpiece final in March.
Our most recent meeting with West Ham came in the Women's Super League at Kingsmeadow back in September, where we ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Fran Kirby, Sam Kerr and Millie Bright.
This is a competition that we have won on two previous occasions. Our maiden League Cup triumph came back in 2020 when we overcame Arsenal at the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest, while the second came the following year with victory over Bristol City at Watford’s Vicarage Road.
Semi-final ties will be played across Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 February, prior to the next international break. A date and kick-off time for our fixture will be confirmed in due course, along with subsequent ticket information.
