Ann-Katrin Berger and Jess Carter gave 14 schoolgirls tickets to Saturday’s Champions League semi-final first leg versus Barcelona.
The students, from Castle Hill Primary School in Chessington, were invited into Cobham for an exclusive football session after receiving brand new football kits courtesy of the Premier League Primary Stars Kit Scheme earlier in the day.
The Premier League and Chelsea Foundation revealed the new kits during an education workshop which took place at the school, before the students made their way into Cobham to test out the new attire.
However, the surprises were about to get even better, when Berger and Carter left the girls in shock when they surprised them during the football session.
The students asked Berger and Carter questions before the Chelsea Women’s stars surprised the schoolgirls with tickets for Saturday’s match at Stamford Bridge.
Carter said: ‘It was really special to see the girls faces when we surprised them and then told them about the tickets. It was a fantastic day organised by Chelsea Foundation and a great scheme from the Premier League. Being a part of it really made my day.’
Castle Hill Primary School had previously taken part in Chelsea Foundation’s event at Kingsmeadow on International Women’s Day. A new initiative was announced which will offer 5000 young girls their first experience of football.
