While some sights on Chelsea Women’s journey remain pleasingly familiar, following the team’s fifth successive Women’s Super League title last season, other areas evolve and today we are delighted to announce our approach to ticket pricing for the 2024/25 season.
Changes were made for last season’s ticketing and there were wins in the stands as well as on the pitch.
Our incredible fans showed their continued support through a doubling of our total home attendance figure compared with the previous season, a new record crowd for a Women’s Super League game at Stamford Bridge and a first sell-out at the stadium for the Champions League visit by FC Barcelona.
We had the most full-capacity crowds at Kingsmeadow in a single campaign, and in both stadiums, we had a higher attendance of those who had bought tickets in advance coming through the turnstiles on the day.
However, following consultation with our fan groups, we are evolving in order to create a simpler, easier-to-follow pricing structure for matches held at Stamford Bridge to help supporters.
We are removing the different tiers of prices that existed within a single stand. If purchased in an ‘early bird’ window, more details of which are below, supporters can purchase tickets at the continued lowest cost from last season of £12 for adults and £6 for juniors and seniors.
When fixtures go on general sale, the lowest-priced general admission ticket increases by £3, however there is a £25 reduction in the highest-priced seat as that drops from £50 to £25.
We heard feedback from supporters directly, from representatives on the Women’s Fans’ Forum and the Fan Advisory Board, that occasional discount offers during the sales period for matches last season resulted in cheaper tickets than those bought early on or in packages.
As a result, there will be a new structure to sales for Stamford Bridge Packages which for the 2024/25 season will provide access to three matches.
Supporters who purchase a three-game package benefit from the biggest discount of 25 per cent, compared to the match-by-match general sale pricing. When buying for a single match, there will be a 20 per cent early-bird discount in the first two weeks of the sale window.
After consultation with the Fan Advisory Board, it has been decided that Kingsmeadow will host eight WSL fixtures to help maximise attendance, atmosphere and sustainable growth across the season.
As a result, on a pro-rata basis adult season tickets work out as the same price as last season with an increase of £10 to £20 (dependent on the stand) covering the extra game. Season tickets for adults range from £70 to £140 for eight WSL home matches, with junior and senior season tickets half those prices.
We are also introducing an early-bird window for buying match-by-match tickets at Kingsmeadow. Tickets purchased during this period by season ticket holders for either the men’s or women’s team, plus members, are frozen at 2023/24 prices. Tickets sold in a new general sale window will increase by £1 for adults and 50p for junior and seniors.
This means Kingsmeadow adult match tickets for Women’s Super League games range from £10 to £21, and for juniors/seniors from £5 to £10.50.
We are delighted to announce that this season, following discussions in the Women’s Fans’ Forum, we are adding a finance option that will allow supporters to pay for season tickets through monthly instalments instead of one upfront payment.
If you take advantage of the instalment plan scheme provided by V12 Retail Finance Limited – our season ticket finance provider - you can spread the cost over eight monthly instalments. Details on how to apply for the finance plan will be communicated when renewals begin on Tuesday 16 July.
Home matches will again be shared between our two home venues next season and we can confirm that Stamford Bridge will host a minimum of six games, including three WSL fixtures and three group-stage UEFA Women’s Champions League matches.
Further information will be announced when the Champions League draw takes place in late September.
Chris Jurasek, Chelsea Chief Executive, said: ‘As Chelsea Women continue to grow, we are focused on creating a strategy with our fans at the core, which will ultimately allow us to reinvest finances directly back into the team, and support the continued success the squad has enjoyed for so many seasons.
'We are delighted to have worked in collaboration with our Fan Advisory Board in reaching a decision on next season’s ticket prices.’
Tracy Brown, co-chair of the Fan Advisory Board, added: ‘The FAB is pleased with the club’s comprehensive consultation with us regarding the crucial matter of ticket prices and its overall strategy for our women’s supporters.
‘Through our close collaboration, we ensured that the financial implications for our supporters were thoroughly understood and addressed.
'The FAB considers this year’s pricing structure to be fair and reasonable, and we look forward to building on our strong partnership with the club regarding its development of the women’s game.’
