Chelsea Women have arrived safely in Portugal for a pre-season training camp as part of preparations for the 2023/24 campaign, which gets underway in less than a month.
The Blues trained at Cobham on Tuesday morning, before setting off for southern Europe where the squad will be put through their paces on the training pitches, but the trip also provides an opportunity for players and staff to regroup after the summer break.
Our first competitive pre-season outing produced five goals as we overcame a resilient A.S. Roma side 3-2 at Kingsmeadow on Sunday. Guro Reiten and Lauren James struck before a stoppage time winner from Aggie Beever-Jones helped us past the reigning Italian champions.
Fans should keep an eye on club channels to follow the squad’s activity during their time abroad, where players and staff will be preparing for our opening Women's Super League match against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 1 October, with tickets available to purchase here.
