The form
Chelsea go into the final league game of the season in flying form. Hayes’ side are unbeaten in the WSL in 2022, winning our last eight league fixtures.
The Blues most recently beat Birmingham City on the road as we edge closer to a third WSL title in a row.
A win for Chelsea would guarantee the league title, with Arsenal one point behind the Blues.
Arsenal take on West Ham United, kicking off at the same time. If Arsenal lose, the Blues would secure the league title regardless of the result versus Manchester United.
Chelsea Women v Manchester United Women recent head-to-head record
This will be our third meeting with Manchester United this season, having played Marc Skinner’s side in the league once and Continental Tyres League Cup.
The Blues were rampant in the reverse fixture, beating United 6-1 at Leigh Sports Village with five different goal scorers.
A brace from Sam Kerr and goals from Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder, Drew Spence and Jessie Fleming saw Hayes’ side thrash the Red Devils.
Our most recent outing against Manchester United at Kingsmeadow came in the Conti Cup semi-final in February, Hayes’ side put three past United in a thrilling fixture with Jess Carter, Harder, Fleming on the scoresheet.
Next up for the Blues
It’s another big game for the Blues with the final competitive game of the 2021/22 season being the Vitality Women’s FA Cup final against Manchester City next Sunday.
Hayes’ side will be eyeing up retaining the trophy for the second year in a row.
