Covid-19 advice

With the Government’s easing of Covid-19 ‘Autumn and Winter Plan B’ restrictions on 27 January, Chelsea Football Club confirmed that Covid passes are no longer required for fans attending our games at Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow.

Neither proof of Covid-19 vaccination nor a negative Lateral Flow Test need to be shown.

Although supporters attending our home matches will no longer be required to provide evidence they are at low risk of transmitting Covid-19, it is vital they continue to do all they can to minimise the risk of passing on the virus.

Supporters must not attend matches if they have any Covid-type symptoms or there is a risk of passing on Covid-19.

There are some simple ways fans can help keep each other safe on a matchday:•Wear face coverings in indoor and crowded areas, including the concourses, except when eating or drinking.•Continue to regularly use hand-washing facilities and hand sanitisers which are located throughout.•If possible, take a Covid-19 test on a matchday to check there is no risk of passing on the virus.•The best way to protect yourself and others from Covid-19 is to get vaccinated.

The form

The Blues go into the fixture full of confidence having not lost a game in 2022. Most recently, Emma Hayes’ side beat Aston Villa 3-1 to progress into the fifth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

A brace from Guro Reiten and a Pernille Harder penalty ensured we safely entered the hat for the next round, where we will host Leicester City.

United also go in to the fixture having tasted FA Cup fourth round success, netting two past Bridgewater United in the fourth round over the weekend.

Chelsea Women vs Manchester United Women head-to-head record

This will be our second meeting with United this term, having already played Marc Skinner’s side away in the league.

The Blues were rampant against United winning 6-1 at Leigh Sports Village with five different goal scorers.

A brace from Sam Kerr and goals from Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder, Drew Spence and Jessie Fleming saw Hayes’ side thrash the Red Devils.

Prior to that game, the last time we hosted United at Kingsmeadow was in January 2021. Lauren James was on the scoresheet for her former side while Harder and Kirby netted for the Blues in a 2-1 victory on home turf.

Next up for the Blues

The Blues return straight back to league action this weekend when we host Manchester City at Kingsmeadow in the FA WSL, kicking off at 12.30pm (UK time).
