After back-to-back fixtures at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea return to Kingsmeadow on Sunday to take on Leicester City in our final Women's Super League fixture before the international break.

Liverpool were comprehensively dispatched last time out in the WSL. Lauren James grabbed the headlines with her first Chelsea hat-trick while Sjoeke Nusken and Aggie Beever-Jones were also on target in a 5-1 victory.

On Thursday, Emma Hayes's side returned to the Bridge to face Paris FC on matchday two of the UEFA Women's Champions League. It was Sam Kerr's turn to bag a treble and a late Sophie Ingle volley ensured a 4-1 win over our French opponents.

The visit of Leicester on Sunday closes out a busy month for Chelsea – and Hayes will want her players to head into the next round of international fixtures off the back of a positive result that cements our position at the top of the WSL table.

When and where?

We welcome Leicester City to Kingsmeadow in the WSL this Sunday 26 November, with kick-off scheduled for 2.00pm (UK time).

How to follow

You can follow the game through the match centre on the Official Chelsea App and website, or via Chelsea Women’s social media channels.

There will be live commentary on our Twitter page and regular updates on Facebook and Instagram. Simply search ‘ChelseaFCW’ on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The fixture will also be available to watch live on the FA Player platform.

The form

Chelsea have taken 19 points from 21 available this season (six wins and one draw). That form resulted in a strong start to our WSL title defence, with 23 goals scored and just five conceded in the process.

James has played an influential role thus far and, last weekend against Liverpool, she became the youngest player to be involved in four goals in a single WSL match (22y 50d – 3 goals, 1 assist).

As for Leicester, they arrive in the capital sitting seventh in the league table with eight points having claimed two wins, two draws and suffered three defeats so far this season.

Their most recent outing ended in a penalty shootout victory over Manchester City in the FA Continental Tyres League Cup.

Chelsea vs Leicester City – head-to-head record

Our previous WSL meeting with Leicester at Kingsmeadow saw us score six goals without reply on our way to a fourth consecutive league title. A brace from Pernille Harder was complemented by goals from James, Guro Reiten, Erin Cuthbert and Jelena Cankovic.

In the reverse league fixture at the King Power Stadium last December, we recorded an emphatic 8-0 victory on a bitterly cold afternoon in the East Midlands.

Braces from Jessie Fleming and Fran Kirby were added to by Reiten, Niamh Charles, Sam Kerr and Bethany England.

What comes next

Having played six games across domestic and European competition in November, our campaign is paused for international football – and several Chelsea stars will head off to represent their respective nations.

Our next WSL fixture sees us travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in a tantilising London derby on Sunday 10 December. Kick-off scheduled for 12.30pm (UK time) and the match has been selected for live television broadcast on the BBC.
