The Blues are currently in Portland, Oregon this week to compete in the Women’s International Champions Cup and Emma Hayes’ side kick-off the pre-season tournament with a mouthwatering match against European champions Lyon.
When and where?
The Blues will take on the French side this evening at Providence Park in Portland, kicking off at 6.06pm PDT (2.06am UK time).
The tournament format, featuring four teams, will comprise of two double-headers played over two days, with the winners of each of Wednesday’s games facing off in a tournament decider on Saturday.
Portland Thorns will take on Mexican side Monterrey at 8.40pm on Wednesday (4.40am UK time).

Chelsea Women vs Lyon Women head-to-head record
It’s been more than three years since the Blues last came head-to-head with Lyon. Our last outing against the French champions came in the Champions League semi-final in 2019. Hayes’ side narrowly lost out on a place in the final with a 3-2 defeat on aggregate.
Next up for the Blues
Following the match against Lyon, the Blues will face either Portland Thorns or Monterrey.
The winners of both games will go head-to-head in a tournament decider on Saturday 20 August, while the other two sides will battle it out for third place on that same day.
