A number of Blues will soon turn their attention to international duty after being selected to represent their respective countries.

The domestic season will come to a pause following our Women's Super League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 20 October when a number of Blues will go off to meet up with their international teammates.

For some, this international window will see players contest the first round of play-off matches for next summer's European Championships. Meanwhile, others could earn their caps in friendly encounters.

A Chelsea quintet - Hannah Hampton, Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Lauren James and Aggie Beever-Jones - have been called up to the England squad who are set to face Germany at Wembley on October 25 and South Africa on October 29 in Coventry.

With the Lionesses having already qualified for next summer's major tournament, these friendly matches will act as good preparation for Sarina Wiegman and her players.

James returns to the England squad having missed the last round of group stage qualifying matches in July, meanwhile fellow forward Beever-Jones retains her place after winning her first cap this summer.

Also using this window to prepare for next summer's tournament is Germany, who qualified as group winners. Sjoeke Nusken has been selected for their upcoming friendlies against England and Australia.

Nusken could feature against a number of her Blues team-mates when her country play the Lionesses on October 25, before a home encounter with Australia three days later.

There will be Chelsea representation in the Netherlands' squad who will play Indonesia at home and Denmark away during this international window. Midfielder Wieke Kaptein has been included, as has summer signing Veerle Buurman, who is spending the season on loan at PSV.

Euros play-offs - All ties to be played October 25 and 29

Blues midfielder Erin Cuthbert has been included in the Scotland squad for their play-off double-header against Hungary. The first match will see the Scots go on the road, while the return leg is set to take place in Edinburgh at Easter Road.

Should Scotland beat Hungary, they will progress into the final round of play-off matches where a win against Montenegro or Finland would secure their place at the 2025 Euros, which would be their third appearance at a major tournament.

Also in play-off action will be Guro Reiten, who has been called up by Norway. They face Albania also - away and then at home - in their bid to reach the Euros.

If Norway see off Albania, a clash against either Croatia or Northern Ireland awaits Reiten and her compatriots during the next international window in late November/early December.

Our Swedish trio - Zecira Musovic, Nathalie Bjorn, and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd - have been named in the squad who are set to take on Luxembourg. After finishing third in a tough group with England and France and missing out on automatic qualification, the Swedes route to the Euros will also be via the play-offs.

A win over Luxembourg would see Sweden take on the winner of Bosnia Herzegovina v Serbia in the play-off second round.

We will bring you news of Chelsea Women's other call-ups in due course in this article.
