Ben Chilwell has agreed to extend his contract with Chelsea Football Club by a further two years.
The new deal, which will keep the 26-year-old at Stamford Bridge until at least the summer of 2027, was finalised today with Chilwell having this to say:
‘I feel very settled at Chelsea and have really enjoyed my time on the pitch here so I’m very pleased the club want me to be part of the project long-term, and am very happy to sign this extension to my contract.
‘We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome.’
The left-back or left wing-back was a member of Chelsea’s 2021 Champions League-winning side and has since overcome a serious knee injury to re-establish himself as a key squad member for both club and country.
Having signed for Chelsea in 2020 when our current caretaker manager Frank Lampard was head coach, Chilwell has made 80 appearances for the Blues and scored nine goals, with his most recent strike coming on a return to his former club Leicester City last month.
