Cole Palmer’s stunning left-footed strike in our Premier League win over Newcastle United has been voted Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for October.
Our top scorer so far this season added to his tally with a fine finish against the Magpies last month, finding the corner from distance to grab his seventh of the season and ensure we claimed the points in our 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer picked the ball up just inside the Newcastle half before driving at goal, setting himself and letting fly from distance with the strike too hot for Nick Pope to handle in the Newcastle goal.
It means Cole scoops the monthly award for October, beating nine other strikes from the month across all our teams as voted for by Chelsea supporters on the official app and website.
Palmer earned 41 per cent of the vote, beating Nicolas Jackson – who also scored in the Newcastle victory - into second place with 25 per cent, while Pedro Neto’s strike against Gent took bronze with 17 per cent.
Congratulations, Cole!
