Cole Palmer's incredible free-kick against Brighton & Hove Albion has been nominated for the September Goal of the Month award, meaning the England international is in the running for two Premier League gongs this month.
This morning it was announced Palmer had been nominated for September's Premier League Player of the Month (which you can vote for here) and that was swiftly followed an hour later with the news that Enzo Maresca was up for the manager's prize (voting here).
And this afternoon Palmer's outstanding long-range free-kick against Brighton & Hove Albion - one of four goals he scored on the day - was in the running for the Premier League's Goal of the Month for September.
The 22-year-old is up against Jhon Duran (v Everton), Harvey Barnes (v Wolves), Bryan Mbeumo (v Tottenham), Darwin Nunez (v Bournemouth), Riccardo Calafiori (v Manchester City), James Justin (2nd goal v Arsenal) and Dwight McNiel (1st v Crystal Palace).
The forward will be hoping for a third piece of good news in an hour's time when the England squad is announced. If Palmer is called up by Lee Carsley, we will bring you the news on the official Chelsea website and app.
Palmer was included in Carsley's maiden England squad last month, alongside Blues teammates Levi Colwill and Noni Madueke, but had to withdraw following assessments by the England staff.
