Levi Colwill knows better than anyone just what Moises Caicedo will offer the Blues.
The pair were team-mates at Brighton last season and have now reconnected at Stamford Bridge following the Ecuadorian’s recent transfer. Caicedo was on the pitch for all but one of Colwill’s league appearances on the South Coast, mostly playing in front of the on-loan defender.
It was a role they resumed in Chelsea blue on Friday night during the emphatic win over Luton, when Caicedo showed why he is regarded so highly. For Levi, first-hand experience tells him all he needs to know.
‘Playing with him last season you just rely on him,’ said the 20-year-old.
‘Even when I know I have made a mistake, I have always known he is there to cover me in midfield. Some of the passes I gave to him [last season] were terrible and he still saved me and made me look good!
‘I think anyone that watched him last season knows how good a player he is,' added Colwill.
'In my opinion, he is worth every pound that was spent on him. I think he is going to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and the world. I don't doubt that.
‘He is a very good player and him in this team alongside the other amazing players we have got, it is going to work well. I am happy he is here.’
