A number of special guests visited Cobham recently, for the final community days of the 2023/24 season.
The community days, organised by Chelsea Foundation, saw Chelsea supporters who have been going through tough times invited into the training ground for an unforgettable experience.
Their visit began with a Q&A session with Chelsea legend Carlo Cudicini before heading out to the training pitch.
Lewis Brown, Sehajmeet Chopra, Sophie Johnson, Samuel Gilbert, Arlo Beniston, Ryan Nichols, and David Prescod were the latest special guests to then watch their heroes in action.
After viewing training, the guests were then joined by the squad who posed for photos after signing memorabilia for the guests.
Lewis said: ‘It’s been the best day ever. Meeting my favourite players Conor Gallagher, Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto is something I will never forget.’
Sophie said: ‘It’s been a great day and certainly much better than going to college, but now I can’t wait to go and tell all my friends about it and show them my signed shirt.’
Sehajmeet added: ‘Meeting all of the players has been amazing, but meeting Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer in particular was the highlight.’
Over 60 families joined Chelsea Foundation’s community days throughout the 2023/24 season, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to providing exclusive opportunities for its community.
Ryan was particularly delighted to meet Mauricio Pochettino and his favourite player, Thiago Silva.
For Arlo, the day was all about Raheem Sterling, describing the Blues winger as his ‘dream person’. That dream became a reality, when Sterling welcomed Arlo after training and signed his wheelchair, which is decorated with images of Raheem, and gifted Arlo with a pair of his boots.
Lifelong Chelsea fan Samuel enjoyed an equally special experience, saying: ‘The highlight of the day was meeting Reece James. I now can’t wait to attend a match at Stamford Bridge.’
David (pictured top), who was joined by staff from King's College Hospital, said: ‘I really enjoyed the day, my favourite-ever Chelsea player is Didier Drogba, but it was great to meet of all the players.’
