Naomi Girma is set to make her Chelsea debut with Sonia Bompastor making four changes to her starting XI for this afternoon's Women's Super League against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Blues return to WSL action at Broadfield Stadium a fortnight after our last league encounter, with USA international Girma set to line-up in defence for the first time since signing for the club in January.
Girma, Lucy Bronze, Wieke Kaptein and Aggie Beever-Jones have all been introduced to the starting line-up from our last league match against Everton at Kingsmeadow two weeks ago.
Hannah Hampton starts in goal and will be protected by a defence that includes Bronze, captain Millie Bright, Girma, and Sandy Baltimore. Our midfield will consist of Sjoeke Nusken, Keira Walsh, and Kaptein.
Our attack will feature Lauren James, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, and Beever-Jones who all start for the Blues against the Seagulls.
New signing goalkeeper Becky Spencer takes her place on the bench alongside Nathalie Bjorn, Ashley Lawrence, Oriane Jean-Francois, Lola Brown, Vera Jones, Catarina Macario, Mayra Ramirez and Chloe Sarwie who replaced Niamh Charles amongst the subsitutes following the warm-up.
Chelsea XI: Hampton; Bronze, Bright, Girma, Baltimore, Walsh, Nusken, Kaptein, Rytting Kaneryd, James, Beever-Jones
Chelsea substitutes: Spencer, Sarwie, Bjorn, Lawrence, Jean-Francois, Brown, Jones, Macario, Ramirez
