Reece James, Romeo Lavia and Cole Palmer are among those to return to the Chelsea starting XI for this afternoon's Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

Head coach Enzo Maresca stated after our midweek Conference League win over Panathinaikos that changes would be made for today's game, and he has been true to his word with 10 alterations to the side that started in Athens.

Robert Sanchez returns in goal for the Blues – Filip Jorgensen is named among the substitutes – and there is a new look to the defence with Reece James starting at right-back, Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill the centre-backs, and Malo Gusto set to be deployed at left-back.

Neither Moises Caicedo nor Romeo Lavia travelled to Greece but are back in the starting XI this afternoon having impressed in our last Premier League outing at Liverpool.

Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer return to our attack while Pedro Neto is the only man to keep his place in the side following Thursday night's European action.

Nicolas Jackson, also among those left at home in midweek, comes back into the team and leads the front line. The Senegal international has struck five goals in eight Premier League games this term.
