Erin Cuthbert's fine strike to guarantee league victory over West Ham United has been shortlisted for the Women's Super League Goal of the Month award for March.

Cuthbert's thumping late volley from a corner rounded off a hard-fought performance from the Blues and secured a 2-0 victory over our fellow Londoners.

An early goal from forward Aggie Beever-Jones put the Blues on course for a third league success in a row, but the resilient Hammers kept themselves in a tight contest that remained in the balance until the closing minutes.

But Cuthbert's moment of class made sure of the three points. She took Catarina Macario's set-piece down on her chest at the back post and unleashed a superb strike that flashed past West Ham goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold.

Cuthbert's strike will go up against seven other strikes also on the shortlist, including goals from Everton's Hanna Bennison, Bristol City's Megan Connolly, West Ham's Viviane Asseyi, Brighton's Elisabeth Terland and Lee Guem-min and Manchester City's Jess Park and Khadija Shaw.

If successful, the Scottish international will be the first Chelsea player to claim the award since forward Sam Kerr won last season's March Goal of the Month for her clever winner against Manchester United at Kingsmeadow.

Erin is the third Blue nominated for an award this month, with Emma Hayes on the shortlist for the WSL Manager of the Month title and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd in the running for Player of the Month.
