Dortmund vs Chelsea: Head-to-head record
This is our first competitive match against Borussia Dortmund and the ninth team from Germany we have played in various European competitions.
Chelsea did play against Borussia Dortmund as part of an eight-match summer tour of USA and Canada in May 1954 (pictured top), which also included three games against Rangers and another against German side Fortuna Dusseldorf. Dortmund won the game against the Blues 6-1 at Randall’s Island, New York in front of a 7,500 crowd.
Borussia Dortmund will be the 200th different club Chelsea have played in competitive football in our 118-year history.

Graham Potter’s side have won their last four matches in the Champions League. The last time we won five games in a row in the competition was between September and November 2010 when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge.

Graham Potter is looking to become the first Chelsea manager to go unbeaten in his first six Champions League matches since Roberto Di Matteo in April 2012 (eight).
If the Blues win, Potter will become the first English manager to win five consecutive matches in the competition and the second to win away from home against German opposition in the Champions League after Sir Bobby Robson, who managed it twice.
