In what was the first face-to-face Edge of the Box Club since January 2022, attendees heard from a variety of speakers and took part in workshop sessions before being joined by special guest Carlo Cudicini (pictured top) for a Q&A session.

Cudicini spoke about the importance of skills such as resilience in both business and football. Following the event, he said: ‘It was fantastic to be part of the Edge of the Box Club event, a great experience to be alongside all these people who are putting in great effort and time to set up their business. All the best to them and their businesses.’

Attendees were also able to test early-stage ideas on marketspace stalls and establish collaborations through our skills-swap board, new introductions for Edge of the Box Club events.

Courtesy of partners Cadburys, prizes such as signed Chelsea FC memorabilia were awarded to competition winners including keynote speaker Gori Yahaya of Upskill Digital who said: ‘The Edge of the Box Club is always a great networking event with like-minded people sharing valuable insight and advice. I always say to people, take advantage of what’s available to you in the room as together we can tackle any barriers we may face.’

James Byford, lead enterprise tutor at Chelsea Foundation, said: ‘We are delighted with another successful Edge of the Box Club event and the positive feedback received. After summer consultation with participants, we identified key insights that would help us drive forwards with new innovations to build on the strong sense of belonging that underpins the Edge of the Box Club.’

The Edge of the Box Club has been running for over eight years supporting thousands of participants, generating a welcoming and supportive community.

The next event is open to anyone based in London over the age of 18 with a keen interest in starting their own business.
