Chelsea Women’s Emma Hayes and Denise Reddy have won the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award for November after helping the Blues record back-to-back league victories and move top of the table.
Hayes, Reddy, Paul Green and the coaching team guided us through two tough fixtures against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, securing six points which saw us extend our winning run to seven consecutive league matches.
We began November with a trip to an unbeaten Manchester United side, with Reddy and Green at the helm as Hayes continued to recover from surgery. Goals from Sam Kerr, Lauren James and Erin Cuthbert secured a 3-1 victory which ended our hosts 100 per cent start to the season.
Hayes returned alongside Reddy and Green ready for our meeting with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in our final league game of November. Goals from Kerr, Cuthbert and Guro Reiten helped us to a 3-0 victory which moved us three points clear at the top of the table ahead of a busy December.
With six goals scored and just one conceded in November, the Blues began December with purpose and secured an eighth consecutive league win with an 8-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend. We welcome Reading to Kingsmeadow on Sunday in our final league game before Christmas. We also play PSG at Stamford Bridge on 22 December.
