Chelsea Women’s Emma Hayes and Denise Reddy have been nominated for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award for November as the Blues recorded back-to-back league victories to move top of the table.
Our management team guided us through two tough fixtures against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, securing six points which have seen us extend our winning run to seven consecutive league matches.
We began the month with a trip to an unbeaten Manchester United side, with Reddy at the helm as Hayes continued to recover from surgery. Goals from Sam Kerr, Lauren James and Erin Cuthbert secured a 3-1 victory which ended our hosts 100 per cent start to the season.
Hayes returned to the dugout ready for our meeting with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in our final league game of November. Goals from Kerr, Cuthbert and Guro Reiten helped us to a 3-0 victory which moved us three points clear at the top of the table ahead of a busy December.
With six goals scored and just one conceded, Hayes and Reddy share a deserved nomination for November’s WSL Manager of the Month. They go up against Gareth Taylor of Manchester City and Aston Villa’s Carla Ward, with the winner due to be announced soon.
