Enzo Maresca says Chelsea have no fresh fitness concerns heading into Monday night’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.
The Blues welcome our London rivals to Stamford Bridge and the aim for Maresca and his players will be to return to winning ways in the top flight.
Maresca faced the media at Cobham this morning to preview the game and outlined the latest team news, although further training sessions will be undertaken across the weekend.
‘It is exactly the same as for the last game,’ said the Blues head coach. ‘Wes [Fofana] is out, Romeo [Lavia] is out, Benoit [Badiashile] is out. The rest are ok.’
West Ham make the trip across London under the stewardship of Graham Potter, who took charge at the London Stadium earlier this month.
The Irons have taken four points from the three matches overseen by Potter, and Maresca has highlighted a change of approach under the former Blues head coach.
‘They are very aggressive,’ he said. ‘I have watched the four games with Graham in charge and they try to be very aggressive – even in the last game against Aston Villa. So it will be a tough game like always and in terms of our tactical approach, we have two days to prepare the game and we will see.’
While defeat last time out against Manchester City was disappointing, the Blues will be looking to make it back-to-back league wins on home soil.
Yet Maresca has insisted the motivation for his side is purely claiming an important victory and another three points.
He said: ‘We need a response and need a good performance to win the game but not because it’s after the Manchester City game.
‘It’s because we always try to do the same and for sure it could be a good match and a good moment to get three points, especially at home.’
