Chelsea is thrilled to announce Erin Cuthbert has signed a contract extension with the club, penning a deal until the summer of 2027.

The 26-year-old Scottish midfielder has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell since joining the club from Glasgow City as a teenager in 2016, winning six Women’s Super League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the WSL Spring Series and the Community Shield.

She is our second-longest currently serving player behind captain Millie Bright and earlier this season the midfielder surpassed 250 appearances with the Blues.

After committing her future to Chelsea, Cuthbert said: ‘It’s been eight years, but the feeling of playing for this club never goes away.

‘It’s a good time to reflect on how far I’ve come over the last eight years. If you had said to the girl who joined Chelsea eight years ago that she would still be here, I wouldn’t have believed you. I have fallen in love with a club and they have fallen in love with me. That’s special.’

Head of women’s football, Paul Green, added: 'Erin is one of the leaders in the team and now in her prime. She has been a key player in our success over the last eight years and recently surpassed 250 appearances for the club, which is testament to her reliability and consistency.

‘We have seen her develop into one of the best central midfielders in the world and look forward to seeing her continue to progress in the upcoming years.’

On top of her vast number of achievements with the Blues, Cuthbert has twice been named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year and has been named Scotland Women’s Player of the Year several times.

She has won 74 caps and scored 23 times for Scotland since making her debut as a teenager in June 2017.

Cuthbert featured at both of her country’s appearances at a major tournament: the 2017 European Championships and the 2019 World Cup, where the midfielder scored against Argentina.

Everyone at Chelsea would like to congratulate Erin on her new deal and we look forward to watching her experience more success in Chelsea blue in the years to come.
