We earned 13 points from 15 available from our first five league matches of the campaign with victories over Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa and a battling point on the road against Manchester City.

Our opening match in a busy run of fixtures this month saw us make the journey to Aston Villa last weekend, where we recorded a scintillating 6-0 victory with six different goal scorers, including captain Millie Bright who celebrated her 250th Blues appearance with the opener which set us on our way.

A hectic November will see the Blues play five more matches across the WSL and UEFA Women’s Champions League, with Everton our next assignment on Sunday where we will be looking to preserve our position at the top of the league table.

We travel to Everton in the WSL at Walton Hall Park this Sunday 12 November, with kick-off scheduled for 1pm (UK time).

The form

We go into the game against Everton at the league summit with four wins and one draw from our opening five league matches. We have scored 15 goals and conceded four in that time and hold a three-point lead over second place going into the weekend.

Chelsea have had 12 different goal scorers in the WSL this season, five more than any other club. Despite being the league’s top scorers with 15, only Sjoeke Nusken (3) and Aggie Beever-Jones (2) have scored more than one goal for the Blues this season.

As for our opponents, Everton occupy 10th place in the league table with four points having recorded one win, one draw and three defeats so far this season. They have scored three goals and conceded nine in the process and will prove another stern test for the Blues to try and overcome.

Head to head

Our last visit to Walton Hall Park in the WSL came in October last year where we recorded a 3-1 victory in our fourth game of the 2022/23 campaign. Niamh Charles added to a Pernille Harder brace to ensure we took all three points back to London on that occasion.

In the reverse league fixture at Kingsmeadow in May, we scored seven without reply with Harder netting another brace that was accompanied by goals from Guro Reiten, Sam Kerr, Sophie Ingle, Jessie Fleming and Erin Cuthbert.

Paying respects

Four members of the Armed Forces will take charge of the game over Remembrance Weekend.

The quartet will comprise of referee Lauren Impey (RAF), assistant referees Levi Gray and Gareth Dunn (both Army) and fourth official Adewunmi Soneye (Ex-Navy).

This is a landmark moment for the Barclays Women’s Super League, with this being the first time that any fixture in the women’s game has featured an officials team consisting entirely of former or current Armed Forces personnel.

Following the trip to Everton, it’s a quick turnaround for the Blues as the focus turns towards the return of the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the start of our group stage campaign.

We head to southern Europe to face Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano on Wednesday 15 November, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm (UK time).
