Chelsea return to Women’s Super League action after the international break with a trip to Everton on Sunday…

When and where?

The Blues head to Merseyside for the afternoon of Sunday 16 October at Walton Hall Park and the game kicks off at 1pm (UK time)

How to follow

As always, you can follow the game via Chelsea Women’s social media channels. There will be live commentary on our Twitter page and regular updates on Facebook and Instagram. Simply search ‘ChelseaFCW’ on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. You can also watch the match via the FA Player.

The form

Chelsea will be looking to extend our unbeaten run to three consecutive league matches, having recorded back-to-back home victories over Manchester City and West Ham United prior to the international break which moved us into fourth spot.

Fran Kirby has been in fine form after scoring in each of the Blues opening three matches of the season. She has scored 57 goals under manager Emma Hayes, one shy of the record for goals under a single manager in WSL history.

As for fifth-placed Everton, they have started brightly under new manager Brian Sorensen. Having lost narrowly to West Ham United on the opening day, the Toffees responded with two wins in a row including an emphatic 3-0 win against rivals Liverpool at Anfield.

They have an identical record to Chelsea with two wins and one defeat in the WSL this season, as well as the same goal difference of +3.

Chelsea Women vs Everton Women recent head-to-head record

The Blues' previous league visit to Everton came back in March, where we secured a 3-0 victory ensuring maximum points returned to the capital on that occasion.

Three goals inside the opening half an hour from Sam Kerr, Guro Reiten and Erin Cuthbert helped Chelsea stay hot on the heels of league leaders Arsenal in the race for the league title.

In the reverse fixture, our first home game of last season, the Blues ran out 4-0 winners. Kerr netted a brace alongside goals from Kirby and substitute Bethany England to kick-start our campaign.

It’s fourth versus fifth on Sunday with both sides knowing victory will be a welcome boost as they look to pick up from where they left off before international duty called.

Next up for the Blues

After Everton, our attention turns to Europe as we prepare to kick-off our UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign next week.

The opening match of the group stage sees us head across the channel to the French capital, where we will take on Paris Saint-Germain on matchday one.

This match takes place on Thursday 20 October at the Stade Jean-Bouin, with kick-off at 8pm (UK time)
