Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi don't just have a strong relationship on the pitch. The pair are close off it too and, to highlight this, the defensive duo sat down with us for an exclusive chat to talk about their season so far, how they have settled into the first team and what they get up to in their free time!
Academy graduate Colwill made the jump to the first-team set-up at the start of the season having worked his way up the Cobham ranks, while Disasi joined the Blues from Monaco in the summer - becoming a virtual ever-present in the backline since.
Together, they have been celebrating tackles, blocks and kicking every ball in search of success at the Bridge.
Speaking about their relationship on and off the pitch, the pair rely on one another when heading into battle and believe that they both complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
Colwill said: ‘Axel is a great defender, great on the ball. I can always trust him if anything is going down his side – I know he’ll handle it.
‘Especially with him celebrating every tackle, it kind of lifts the whole team, lifts me and he has got me doing it a few times too! I do really enjoy playing next to him.’
Axel agrees, adding: ‘Levi is so good you know. He’s someone that I like to joke with in training or in the locker room, but when we are out on the pitch, we feel the same energy together.
‘The game against Man City was the perfect picture of this. We enjoyed celebrating tackles and blocking shots. I hope that in the future this connection will be great.’
The defenders delve into much more including their season highlights, what they get up to in their free time and Axel’s piano skills!
