Lewis Hall is the latest player to tell us how he likes to spend his time away from football, including his other sporting talents and love of Christmas movies, as well as why he keeps his fashion sense more reserved than many of his team-mates.

The versatile midfielder and full-back made his Premier League debut for Chelsea in our last game before the World Cup break in December, away at Newcastle United, and has featured in Graham Potter's team for our last five matches in a row.

While he may have caught the eye with some impressive performances on the pitch recently, away from football the 18-year-old prefers to keep things simple and quiet, as he explains.

Feet up

I spend some of my spare time watching Netflix. I like watching series and stuff. When I’m at home I spend time with my family and go out with friends. I still live with my parents. I was in digs, but when I started driving it was easier for me to move back home, train in the morning, gym in the afternoon, get home and see who’s about online.

I like to play Xbox a bit as well, mainly just playing FIFA at the moment, but occasionally I’ll play Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty. I play a lot with my mates outside of Chelsea. Most of my mates are at Uni so they’re not necessarily doing anything in the afternoons either. I wouldn’t say I’m the best, but I'm not the worst either. I’d back myself!

Worth watching again

I’ve recently watched Outer Banks on Netflix. I’d already seen it but I just fancied re-watching it, because there’s another series coming out. I have to refresh and binge again!

It’s about a group of teenagers on an island. There’s two parts of the island and a rivalry between them. On one of the sides, one of the boys has lost his dad. Everyone says he’s dead but he doesn’t believe it, so him and his side of the island are on a mission to find clues to find his dad basically.

I haven’t really watched many films lately, although I do enjoy Christmas films actually. I watched a few of them last month, like Elf and Home Alone.

Relaxing on the range

I like to keep myself busy and doing stuff on my days off, I wouldn’t just be sat at home doing nothing. I'll maybe go and play golf. It depends on the weather, so right now it’s cold and I probably wouldn’t play a round, I’d just go to the range with my dad or a few friends.

It seems a lot more popular now and it’s one of those sports you can go and play even after training, if it hasn't been a tough day. You can go down to the range and hit a few balls and keep yourself busy. My dad is a lot better than me. He’s always out there, to be fair, he has a lot more time to practise, but he is good.

I don’t really like watching golf, though. I would tune into the big ones and if it’s getting close, but I can’t sit there and watch it all day.

Club, bat and racket

I watch quite a lot of football too, obviously the Premier League, Champions League and World Cup. I also like cricket, so I’ll watch that but only certain matches - international games, World Cups, Test matches - but I wouldn’t watch it all, I’ll watch the highlights.

I played golf at school and cricket as well, plus I used to play tennis quite a bit. I probably enjoyed cricket the most but I’d say I’m better at tennis. We played some padel when we were in Abu Dhabi in December, that was the first time I’d tried it and that was good.

Simple style

I’m different in terms of fashion to some of my team-mates. I look at other people and think 'that outfit suits you but for me it wouldn’t'. I like what I like. If I find something I like then I’ll buy it, but I’d say it’s not that out there. It’s quite basic, just how I like it.

A few of the boys are quite experimental with their dress sense and the stuff they wear suits them, but if I was to wear it I don’t think it would suit me. People like Bashir [Humphreys], I think what he wears suits him and it looks good on him, but for me it wouldn’t.

I do like trainers. I wouldn’t say I have too many, but they’re something I’m probably more interested in than clothes.
